About the role
Security Patrol is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of Hershey Entertainment & Resorts (HE&R), its properties, its assets, its guests, and team members across all of HE&R’s venues, both on and off the Hersheypark Entertainment Complex. Additionally, Security Patrol conducts regular patrols and safety checks of HE&R venues, as well as responds to alarms, emergency calls, or other calls for assistance.
Job Functions
- Provide a safe and friendly atmosphere to guests and team members
- Establish and maintain a good working relationship with other departments and support teams
- Provide security for transporting money and financial documents
- Manage deployment of security personnel and equipment to provide effective and efficient operations during incidents
- Assess, investigate, resolve, and contain situations while taking appropriate actions based on company policy and procedures, as well as training
- Control vehicle/pedestrian traffic when necessary
- Monitor guest behavior for compliance with event and venue policies
- Monitor crowd behavior and movement and take proactive measures to mitigate risk
- Create timely, thorough, and accurate incident reports through the incident documentation process
- Communicate regularly with Security Management regarding training and operational issues including team member or guest concerns, losses, and unusual situations
Basic Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age on the date of applying
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Minimum of at least three (3) years of experience working in the Safety & Security Department (professional experience may be considered in lieu of departmental experience)
Post-employment
- Must obtain RAMP Certification
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Criminal justice/safety/security-related training and experience preferred
- Must be friendly, upbeat, and work well with other team members and be able to interact with guests
- Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated to perform all aspects of the job at all times
- Must be detail-oriented and have clear verbal and written communication skills
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate verbally, including delivering safety instructions/directions, verbal cues, and speaking clearly into microphones and radios
- Must be able to successfully complete all legal, company, and department training requirements
- Must have the ability to remain alert and vigilant at all times
- Must have the ability to handle stressful working conditions, emergencies, and accept a high degree of accountability
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Must have the ability to safeguard confidential information
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications, including Excel and Word
- Must display a positive attitude, an eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines
Job Demands
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- Employees are subject to a variety of weather conditions, including but not limited to: extreme heat, sun exposure, cold, and inclement weather.
- Physical requirements would include ability to stand and walk unassisted (for up to eight hours at a time), bend at the waist and knees and have repeated manual dexterity, the ability to raise the leg 37 inches, the ability to push, pull, and reach above shoulder level, and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds without assistance
