Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Duties

About the role

As an Unarmed Security Officer performing patrol duties in Sandy, UT, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as healthcare. This part-time role allows you to build a flexible schedule and explore new opportunities using our Claim a Shift platform. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, deter security incidents through visibility, and support a welcoming environment with strong communication and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify conditions requiring attention.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry for employees, patients, visitors, and/or deliveries in accordance with site protocols.
• Support daily operations by reporting hazards, disturbances, and/or maintenance concerns while following post orders and healthcare location guidelines.

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
