About the role
As an Unarmed Patrol Driver Security Officer in Ottumwa, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial. This part-time role allows you to build a flexible schedule and explore new opportunities using our Claim a Shift platform. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter security incidents, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. This driving position requires a valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, warehouses, parking areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and verify authorization for personnel, visitors, contractors, and vehicles in accordance with site-specific requirements.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
- Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

- Saturday: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
- Sunday: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
