This Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position is a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader. As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Reconnaissance in Queens, NY, this role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours one week and full-time the next—it’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and personnel by carrying out armed security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at public transportation locations.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following applicable procedures and escalation protocols.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, stations, entrances, surrounding perimeters, and other assigned areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe conditions throughout assigned locations, reporting suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and maintain professional communication with transit personnel, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership.

Requirements

• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Possess a Law Enforcement Officer License. An Armed Guard Card or License is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
