About the role
As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government transit location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to evolving situations. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while working as part of a team that reflects Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and integrity-driven values.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to transit passengers, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, stations, entrances, perimeter areas, and other assigned locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials when required, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, or policy violations.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with appropriate transit personnel and public emergency responders.
- Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation for patrol activities, incidents, observations, and other security-related matters.
Requirements
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
- A Law Enforcement Officer License is required.
- An Armed Guard Card or License is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Pay
$34.70 - $35.70 / Hour
Schedule
- Friday: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
- Sunday: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
