What You'll Do
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and other security-related policies at a government transportation location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts, law enforcement, and/or emergency responders as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of platforms, parking areas, buildings, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor entrances, restricted areas, and public-facing spaces, verifying access permissions and reporting unusual activity, hazards, and/or policy violations according to post orders.
- Support emergency response activities, crowd management, and de-escalation efforts while maintaining a visible presence and following all applicable armed post responsibilities and reporting procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Have 3+ years of Military Police or Corrections Officer or armed security-related experience, or be a Certified Law Enforcement Graduate.
- Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
- Possess an Armed Guard Card or license.
- Provide a DD214 with Honorable Discharge or an Associates Degree or 60 college credits or a Police Academy Certificate or a Corrections Academy Certificate.
- Handcuffing Certification is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
