About the role
As an Armed Security Officer supporting a major public transportation location in Queens, NY, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate clearly with riders and staff, and contribute to a caring, reliable team that acts with integrity.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to passengers, employees, and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at public transportation locations.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and public authorities as directed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit stations, platforms, facilities, access points, and surrounding perimeters to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access control points, observe passenger and employee activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy violations according to site procedures.
- Maintain required armed-post qualifications and handle assigned equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policy, client requirements, and applicable laws.
Requirements
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED.
- Valid law enforcement officer license.
- Armed guard card or license is preferred.
- At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- Valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Pay
$34.70 - $35.70 / Hour
Schedule
- Part Time
- Tuesday: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
- Friday: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
