About the role
As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Deployment in Queens, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and public transportation. You will monitor and patrol transit locations, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, respond to concerns, and provide professional customer service and communication. This role offers the opportunity to support a public transportation environment while working with an agile, reliable team that puts people first, delivers through teamwork, and acts with integrity.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to passengers, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a public transportation location.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, stations, entrances, surrounding perimeters, and other assigned areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with appropriate transit personnel and public emergency responders as needed.
- Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify authorized entry where applicable, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations according to site procedures.
- Maintain required documentation, including patrol logs, incident reports, and daily activity records, while following all applicable armed post policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
- Possess a valid law enforcement officer license.
- An armed guard card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

$35.70 / Hour
