Security Officer Site Supervisor Day Shift Weekdays

About the role

The Security Site Supervisor oversees the security operations at a designated location, ensuring a safe and secure environment for visitors and employees. This role involves hiring and training security staff, scheduling, performance monitoring, incident response, liaison work, and maintaining quality service and contract compliance.

Responsibilities

• Hiring and training security staff, including new hires and current staff.
• Scheduling and overseeing the daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of security staff.
• Maintaining performance and conducting daily briefings, including accompanying guards on patrols to assess their performance and verify adherence to security rules.
• Responding to incidents, monitoring CCTV and security systems, and performing regular patrols to identify potential breaches.
• Liaising with the on-site manager and staff to provide advice and receive feedback.
• Establishing and carrying out policies and procedures required by the organization.
• Keeping diligent records to document all security-related instances that occur at their place of employment.
• Working with security managers to create training programs so that all security guards can have the knowledge to fulfill their responsibilities.
• Continuously training current equipment or instructing employees on how to use newly adopted technology.
• Making recommendations for positive and negative personnel actions for those under his/her direct supervision.
• Making productivity and cost reduction recommendations to management.
• Making recommendations for physical security surveys and post orders.
• Making recommendations concerning disciplinary action/commendation decisions pertaining to security personnel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing.
• Possess one or more of the following: Service in the active-duty military, military reserves, or National Guard; Service in Auxiliary Police or Police Cadets.
• Minimum of one year verifiable and successful supervisory experience in security-related industry.
• Associate's degree or higher in any discipline.
• At least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state (21 years, if armed).
• Able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Problem solving, active listening, assessing and evaluating situations, identifying critical issues quickly and accurately, compiling, sorting, and interpreting data, researching, investigating, compiling information, mediating conflict with tact, diplomacy, writing informatively, clearly, and accurately.
