Security Officer - Part Time Unarmed Patrol Incident Notes

In this part‑time, unarmed patrol position in Leesburg, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as technology, media, and telecommunications. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter security‑related incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service while supporting a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office spaces, common areas, entrances, parking areas, and the property perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry in accordance with site‑specific procedures, documenting observations and reporting irregularities to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established escalation and incident‑reporting protocols.
• Maintain detailed activity logs and incident reports, communicate professionally with site contacts, and support a welcoming environment for personnel and visitors.

Requirements

• CPR certification – preferred
• Customer service experience – preferred
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds – preferred
• Comfort using a computer or tablet – preferred
• Guard card or license – preferred
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws
• Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment, depending on state/local regulations
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only

$23.11 per hour

Schedule

Daytime – Saturday 06:00 AM to 02:00 PM, Sunday 06:00 AM to 02:00 PM
