Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Patrol Incident Notes

About the role

As a Part-Time Unarmed Patrol Security Officer in Santa Clara, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom. This role involves monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, supporting access control activities, and communicating professionally with employees and visitors. You will document observations and respond to routine security-related needs while delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities at a technology and communications location.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and credentialing processes in accordance with site procedures to maintain controlled entry to critical areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly, escalating concerns and coordinating with appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift handoff communications in alignment with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet (preferred).
• Access control or badge experience (preferred).
• Possess a guard card or license (preferred).
• Customer service experience (preferred).
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Pay

$24.84 / hour

Schedule

• Part-Time
• Daytime shifts: Tuesday and Wednesday, 12:00 AM - 08:30 AM
