About the role
As an Unarmed Security Officer at a dynamic educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate clearly, and respond to security-related concerns with integrity. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at an educational campus location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, walkways, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, maintenance concerns, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
- Document daily activities, incidents, and observations accurately and communicate relevant information to supervisors and campus stakeholders.
Requirements
- Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet (preferred).
- Have customer service experience (preferred).
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws and regulations, which may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
