Security Officer Part Time Patrol Experience

About the role

As an Unarmed Security Officer at a premier retail location in Short Hills, NJ, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service. You will communicate professionally with guests, staff, and management while supporting a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, stock areas, and the surrounding perimeter.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and unusual conditions to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control, visitor awareness, and maintaining a professional presence that helps to deter unauthorized activity.

Requirements

• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Saturday: 10:00 AM - 08:00 PM
