About the role

As a Security Officer Part Time Controlled Entry in Allentown, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a food and beverage location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and help deter security-related incidents while supporting Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and people-first culture through teamwork and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a food and beverage production location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain visitor logs, and direct guests and contractors in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, parking areas, exterior perimeter, and designated interior areas to help to deter unauthorized access and report security-related concerns.
• Support food facility access protocols by controlling entry to restricted areas, observing contractor and delivery activity, and documenting relevant security-related information accurately.

Technical Proficiency

• Basic knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS, etc.)
• Familiarity with common software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace)
• Ability to navigate the internet and utilize online communication tools (e.g., email, video conferencing platforms)

Minimum Requirements

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
