Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Operations

About the role

As a Full Time Unarmed Patrol Security Officer in Akron, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. You will conduct routine patrols throughout a public library environment, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond professionally to security-related concerns.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patrons, visitors, and staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout library buildings, entrances, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel or emergency services.
• Assist with maintaining an orderly, welcoming environment by providing directions, answering general questions, and helping address patron concerns in accordance with location policies.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and promptly in required reports.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
