Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Operations

About the role
As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a retail location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for shoppers, tenants, and staff. You will respond to security-related concerns, communicate clearly, and deliver outstanding customer service while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and people-first culture with integrity and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and retail location personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter spaces, to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and observe visitor, customer, and employee activity in accordance with site procedures; report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and emergency response protocols.
- Prepare accurate reports and maintain required activity logs for patrols, incidents, and security-related observations.
Requirements
- Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
