About the role
As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location in Sterling, VA, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, support access control, and provide outstanding customer service. You will communicate professionally with employees and visitors while using technology to document security-related activity.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, including interior spaces, exterior grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access to restricted areas, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and report unusual conditions or access concerns according to site-specific procedures.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
- Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation while supporting a professional and welcoming environment for employees and visitors.
Requirements
- At least one year of security-related experience.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A Guard Card or license is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control or badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
