Security Officer Full Time Entry Control

About the role

As an Access Control Officer at a leading aerospace and defense location in Jacksonville, FL, you will help maintain a secure environment by managing visitor access, verifying credentials, monitoring entry points, and conducting routine patrols. Your visible presence will help deter incidents while you provide outstanding customer service and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
• Monitor and control access to restricted areas by verifying credentials, processing authorized visitors, maintaining visitor logs, and following established entry and exit procedures.
• Respond to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through established communication channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, facilities, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Maintain accurate reports and documentation related to visitor activity, access-control events, incidents, and shift operations.

Requirements

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
