About the role

Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer supporting an aerospace and defense location in Norfolk, VA. You will manage access points, verify credentials, monitor entry activity, and help maintain a secure environment while delivering exceptional customer service and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access control points, verify credentials and authorizations, process visitor and contractor entry, and maintain accurate access-related records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entry points, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized access and identify unusual conditions.
• Operate access control and communications systems, report maintenance concerns or policy violations, and complete clear, timely activity and incident reports.

Requirements

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
