Security Officer Full Time Emergency Housing

About the role

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Emergency Assistance in Jamaica, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas at a community-focused care location, maintaining a visible presence to help deter incidents. You will conduct routine patrols, report security-related concerns, and provide welcoming customer service and clear communication to staff, visitors, and those served.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, staff, and individuals receiving services by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, compassionate, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, or access issues.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and visitor activity; verify authorized access in accordance with site procedures; and maintain professional, respectful interactions with all individuals.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports of incidents, observations, patrols, and security-related activities, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Requirements

• A New York State Security Guard License is required.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
