Security Officer Full Time Emergency Housing

About the role

As a Full Time Unarmed Patrol Security Officer in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for individuals, families, staff, and visitors. You will respond to security-related concerns, communicate professionally, and deliver outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or program participants by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, medical concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, grounds, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, maintenance concerns, or access issues.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures, helping to maintain an orderly environment for individuals receiving services.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities in required reports and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Requirements

• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
