About the role
As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a government services location in New York, NY, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. You will help support a welcoming, orderly environment while working with a team that reflects Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and integrity-driven values.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, staff, residents, and other stakeholders by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government-operated homeless services location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site personnel and/or emergency responders as directed.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, perimeters, and parking locations, to help identify and report unusual activity or maintenance concerns.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures; document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and promptly.
- Maintain a professional presence while communicating respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds and helping to support an orderly environment.
Requirements
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least one year of security-related experience.
- Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
