About the role
Join Allied Universal as an Armed Screener at a healthcare location in Virginia Beach, VA, where you will screen individuals and belongings, monitor entrances, identify potential concerns, and provide compassionate assistance to patients, visitors, and staff. Your visible presence and professional communication will help deter security-related incidents while supporting an orderly, welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide courteous customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while carrying out security-related procedures and healthcare location policies.
- Screen individuals, belongings, and/or deliveries at designated entry points using approved screening methods and equipment.
- Verify identification and access authorization, provide directions, and help manage visitor flow in accordance with location requirements.
- Identify prohibited items and/or access concerns and promptly report or escalate them according to established procedures.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate personnel and supporting emergency response activities.
Requirements
- Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. CPR Certification and Baton Certification are preferred.
