Security Officer Armed Screener Part Time

About the role

As an Armed Screener, you will support a government law enforcement location by screening individuals and belongings, monitoring access points, identifying and reporting security-related concerns, and providing professional communication and customer service. This is a part-time position based in Bushnell, FL.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government facility.
• Screen visitors and their belongings in accordance with established entry-control procedures, using screening equipment and protocols as assigned.
• Verify identification, manage visitor access, and direct individuals to appropriate locations while maintaining professional communication.
• Respond to incidents, prohibited-item discoveries, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; promptly notify appropriate personnel as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.
