Security Officer Full Time Access Operations

About the role

As a Security Officer Full Time Access Operations in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a healthcare location, you will help maintain a secure, welcoming environment by managing badge access, monitoring entry points, and assisting visitors, patients, and staff. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, patients, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorizations, issue and collect visitor badges, and maintain accurate access-related records.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership regarding incidents, policy violations, and/or unusual activity.

Requirements

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
