Security Officer - Full Time Access

About the role

As an Access Control Officer at a dynamic technology location in Leesburg, VA, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. Your presence and communication skills will help deter incidents while providing outstanding customer service and timely reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and employees by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities at a technology data center location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorizations, maintain accurate access records, and report access-control discrepancies according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate personnel and emergency services when required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity, access-control concerns, and facility hazards.
• Maintain clear communication with the Allied Universal team, site contacts, and dispatch personnel while completing required reports and documentation.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• A college degree.
• Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
