About the role
As an Access Control Officer at a retail location, you will help create a welcoming, secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying access, assisting visitors, and responding to security-related concerns. You will maintain a visible presence, conduct routine patrols, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to shoppers, associates, and visitors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
- Monitor and control access points, verify authorization for employees, vendors, contractors, and deliveries, and maintain visitor and access-related records as required.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting security-related activities.
- Help to deter unauthorized entry, theft-related activity, and other security-related concerns through professional presence and observation of assigned entrances and exits.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, sales areas, stockrooms, receiving areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
