Security Officer Part Time Credential Screener

About the role

As a Part-Time Credential Screener at a logistics and distribution location in Manassas, VA, you will help support a welcoming, secure environment by screening individuals and monitoring access points. You will use computer or tablet systems to document activity, communicate professionally with visitors and team members, and help identify and report security-related concerns.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies.
• Screen individuals, packages, and items entering designated areas in accordance with established procedures; identify and report prohibited, suspicious, or unauthorized items and activity.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, delivery documentation, and authorization as required to help control entry to restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and complete required documentation.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of operational areas, parking locations, and the facility perimeter to identify and report security-related concerns.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation and drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Customer service experience, access control and badge experience, and comfort using a computer or tablet are preferred.

$21.36 / hour
