Security Officer Admission Access

About the role

As an Access Control Officer at a commercial real estate location in Columbia, SC, you will help manage entry points, verify authorized access, monitor visitors and deliveries, and maintain a professional, welcoming presence. You will communicate clearly with tenants, guests, and property personnel while helping to deter security-related incidents.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and employees by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access points and verify visitor, contractor, and employee authorization in accordance with established building procedures.
• Manage visitor registration, credential issuance, key and access card control, and maintain accurate access-related logs and records.
• Respond to access control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of building entrances, common areas, parking facilities, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
