As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Operations in North Smithfield, RI, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts when it works for you.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next — it’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to healthcare facilities, restricted areas, and employee entrances in accordance with established site procedures.
• Verify credentials, issue visitor badges or access credentials, maintain access-related logs, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating with appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, surrounding areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Pay

$17.01 per hour

Schedule

• Saturday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Sunday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
