Location: Nashville, TN – Middle Tennessee Mental Health Institute (MTMHI). This is an on-site, full-time position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. A criminal background check is required.

Pay

Monthly salary: $2,896.00 - $4,331.00
Annual salary: $34,752.00 - $51,972.00

Responsibilities

• Assign, train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of assigned security staff and their work.
• Create work schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels and supervise a shift of subordinate staff in the performance of security duties.
• Advise any security concerns to supervisor.
• Communicate with law enforcement agencies to exchange information and request assistance.
• Perform various security activities such as patrolling facilities, monitoring alarms, security systems, checking for safety hazards, and violations of laws and rules.
• Operate security equipment including two-way radios, communication devices, patrol vehicles, and other transportation vehicles.
• Control the entrance and exit of individuals by checking identity, purpose of visit, and authorization.
• Escort individuals to ensure their safety as needed.
• Respond to calls and take appropriate action to assist in emergency situations.
• Search for and apprehend missing or unauthorized individuals.
• Prepare and maintain various reports such as incident reports, vehicle citations, visitor logs, and personal property reports.

Requirements

• Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school.
• One year of law enforcement or security work experience; qualifying full-time law enforcement, security, or related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
• A valid motor vehicle operator's license may be required for some positions.
• Must meet State of Tennessee driver standards:
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • No DUI, reckless driving, or license suspension for moving violations in the past five years.
  • No more than 4 moving violations in the past five years.
