Overview

The Security Associate is responsible for assisting with security and loss prevention activities within the Distribution Center by supporting division objectives. Duties include, but are not limited to, providing security services to managers and associates within the distribution center.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for loss prevention and shortage control programs, taking an active role in identifying all forms of loss, motivating shortage control involvement, and helping to identify shortage control solutions.
• Provide a safe and secure environment for all employees and visitors including the facility, as well as drivers and sales representatives.
• Provide security for the company warehouse, offices, and general assets against theft, vandalism, fire, and illegal entry.
• Utilizing a variety of methods, monitor and assist with the tracking of product shortages.
• Responsible for investigating reports of known or suspected internal theft, violence or the threat of violence, or other criminal acts of an associate.
• Provide oversight and assistance in the management of third-party security services.
• Conduct company shrink compliance audits in the distribution center and facilitate improvement of shrink results.
• Develop and maintain a rapport with various agencies as needed, coordinating investigations with internal or outside agencies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency plus 1 year of experience.

Physical Demands

• Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine.
• Considerable amount of time walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping.
• Additional hours may be required during October, November, and December and other peak periods.
• May require working at heights of 8 feet or greater.
• Must be able to frequently lift/lower, push, carry, or pull 48 lbs.
