HPC-Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, is looking for Seasonal Traveling Industrial Maintenance Hydroblasters Laborers to join their safety-conscious team traveling to and working within multiple locations across the US.

About the role

This team member is responsible for tasks associated with hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and completing general industrial maintenance. This position serves as a representative of HPC-Industrial in creating a continuous working relationship with clients and customers. Traveling is required, and a TWIC card is mandatory.

Location of work: Various customer locations across the US — 100% travel required.

Hourly wage: $20.00

Responsibilities

  • Act as safety representative responsible for safety policies and procedures of both the company and the customer, including hands-on information regarding operations, safety, equipment, emergency response, and administrative functions.
  • Hands-on operation of manual and automated hydro-blasting equipment.
  • Operation of special equipment, such as ultra-high-pressure pumps.
  • Operate equipment by energizing the pumping equipment and/or any specialized hydro-blasting, chemical cleaning equipment, vacuum trucks, and cutting equipment being used on the job.
  • Examine surfaces cleaned to ensure conformance to company and customer specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance on company equipment being used on the job.
  • For personnel in a supervisor capacity: Interface with customer representatives regarding job setup and scope, ensure performance and customer requirements are met or exceeded, and implement company policies and procedures at the job site. Report to the branch manager or designee and implement procedures to obtain results specified by the branch manager.

Physical Demands

  • See, read, distinguish, and understand signs in the work area.
  • Hear and distinguish emergency signals while on duty.
  • Execute a 180-degree rotary motion of the cervical spine to allow complete movement of the head and neck.
  • Extend arms above head.
  • Frequently bend at waist, stoop, squat, kneel, reach, and crawl.
  • Tolerate being wet from head to toe for an unlimited amount of time.
  • Climb ladders and work from scaffolding and stationary platforms up to heights of 200 ft.
  • Tolerate and function in confined spaces of a minimum of 5 ft inside diameter.
  • Hold the back thrust of 50 lbs on a straight 66” pipe for a minimum of 1 hour.
  • Physically capable of using both negative pressure and air-supplied respirators.
  • Wear protective clothing and/or equipment, including but not limited to Nomex coveralls, back belt, slickers, rubber boots, fresh air breathing mask, escape pack, and hard hat.
  • Work under extreme climate conditions (excessive high heat index of 95°F, 98% humidity; and sub-zero weather conditions) relative to geographical location.
  • Exposure to dust (chemical and environmental), fumes (chemical and fluids), exhaust, and highly pressurized fluids. (A respirator will be provided when required.)
  • Noise levels exceed 85 dBA (hearing protection is provided and required).
  • Lift and maintain a minimum of 40 lbs.

Requirements

  • Specific vocational preparation including classroom safety training, on-the-job training, and essential experience gained on other jobs.
  • Language proficiency: understand English at a level to comprehend safety training and respond to instructions in emergency situations.
  • Ability to travel and be away from home for extended periods of time — up to 5 months if necessary.
  • OSHA certification may be required for this job.
  • Knowledgeable in the operation of emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers.
  • Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) is required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Follow all safety protocols for each site, work hours, and work rules established by your manager, complying with HPC policies.
