Seasonal Laborers

Seasonal positions available in several City departments: Parks, Traffic, Water/Sewer, Wastewater, Highway, and Garage.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and other janitorial duties
• Maintenance and care of City-owned buildings and property
• Operate equipment such as mowers, blowers, chippers, compactors, weed whackers, pavement/ground breakers, drills, saws, and hand tools

Requirements

• Valid Class D driver’s license preferred
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to handle and operate tools and equipment as required
• Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to deal efficiently and effectively with the public and other employees

Working Conditions

The incumbent works in various dynamic municipal buildings and locations. Frequent interaction and communication with the public, government officials, other staff members, boards, and third parties. Frequent periods of outside work, subject to all weather conditions and extremes.

Physical Requirements

• Ability and agility to climb ladders
• Perform physical labor such as digging holes and walking long distances over uneven terrain
• Lift fifty (50) pounds from ground level to chest height in a standing position
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions

Schedule

40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.

Pay

Starting rate: $17.99 – $19.18 per hour. Annual increases up to $23.37 per hour.
