About the role

Starting now through the end of the year, CHS, Inc is looking for a Seasonal Scale Operator to join our team in Steward, IL. As a major buyer and trader of grains and oilseeds, CHS moves more than two billion bushels annually through its network of river, rail and export terminals. No experience required — assist in running scale operations during the fall harvest season.

Responsibilities

• Weigh and grade grain in all inbound and outbound trucks using computer and manual tools for measurement.
• Provide a high level of customer service by addressing customers in a prompt, efficient and courteous manner.
• Answer telephone promptly and direct calls as needed.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Assist other personnel as needed.
• Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations.
• Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

Requirements

• 0-6+ months of Operations, Business Operations and/or Customer Service experience.
• General data entry and computer skills.
• Ability to work longer days, weekends, and/or holidays during peak seasons.

Schedule

Shift schedules range from 7a-7p depending on business demand with weekend hours. There is potential to join the team full-time at the end of the season.

Pay

Compensation includes a competitive base wage with opportunities for overtime hours to maximize take-home pay.
