About the role
Starting now through the end of the year, CHS, Inc is looking for a Seasonal Scale Operator to join our team in Carrollton, IL. As a major buyer and trader of grains and oilseeds, CHS moves more than two billion bushels annually through its network of river, rail and export terminals. No experience is required—assist in running scale operations during the fall harvest season.
Responsibilities
- Weigh and grade grain in all inbound and outbound trucks using computer and manual tools for measurement.
- Provide a high level of customer service by addressing customers in a prompt, efficient and courteous manner.
- Answer telephone promptly and direct calls as needed.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Assist other personnel as needed.
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations.
- Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

Qualifications
Pre-employment screening is based on job requirements and industry guidelines and may include drug, criminal, motor vehicle checks, physical requirements, and FMSCA Clearinghouse.
Pay
Compensation includes a base wage and may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives, and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on factors including experience, education, training, specialized skills, certifications, and minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.

Schedule
Shift schedules range from 7a–7p depending on business demand, with weekend hours. There is potential to join the team full-time at the end of the season.
