This is a temporary, in-person, non-benefitted position in the Office of Graduate Education. Two positions are available, with end dates in January 2027 or March 2027. Applicants must specify their preferred end date in their cover letter. This role is seasonal, running from October 2026 to January or March 2027, and is limited to 1,000 hours in a calendar year.
Responsibilities
- Review and examine prospective students’ graduate applications and academic records utilizing established standards and guidelines to ensure applicants meet minimum University standards.
- Prepare admission files for academic units by organizing electronic application materials, reviewing for completion, completing data entry, and notifying applicants of any missing items.
- Process admissions files in a timely and accurate manner based on priorities set by the admissions team.
- Respond to a high volume of email inquiries regarding graduate admission applications, using sound judgment and excellent customer service skills.
- Review and prepare applicant files for final OGE decision approval and release.
- Perform other projects, as assigned, to support the admissions team and OGE.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Administrative office experience
- Computer proficiency skills
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to quickly learn and use new software systems, including the University’s admissions CRM system, Slate
- Exercise confidentiality, discretion, and good judgment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Must be available to work Monday through Friday, except for University holidays and closures
- Ability to work at a computer for the majority of the day and be seated for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications
- Higher education and/or admissions experience
Schedule
- Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., 35 hours/week
- In-person at the University of Denver, with potential for partial remote work after a preliminary period, dependent on team needs
Pay
The hourly rate for this position is $21.00. The University may pay more or less than the posted rate based on qualifications, departmental budget, internal salary equity, and market information.
