Part-time position supporting the daily operations of the Office of Admissions. Reports to the Director of Admissions.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Schreiner University in a professional and positive manner while assisting with undergraduate student recruitment initiatives.
  • Visit high schools, attend college fairs, career fairs, and other recruitment events to promote Schreiner University and engage prospective students and families.
  • Persuasively communicate the value of a Schreiner University education, academic programs, campus community, and student experience to prospective students and their families.
  • Maintain regular communication with prospective and admitted students through phone calls, email, text messaging, social media, virtual meetings, and in-person interactions.
  • Assist with the coordination and implementation of on-campus recruitment events, including campus visit programs, open houses, and special admissions events.
  • Conduct campus tours for prospective students, families, and other campus visitors.
  • Coordinate with Admissions and Financial Aid staff to facilitate a seamless enrollment experience for prospective and admitted students.
  • Assist with student mailings, handwritten postcards, recruitment correspondence, and other admissions communications.
  • Provide customer service and administrative support by answering phones, greeting visitors, and assisting with front desk operations in the Welcome Center.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding student records and all matters within the Offices of Admission and Financial Aid in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
  • Perform general office duties and assist with special projects as assigned.
  • Work evenings and partial weekends as needed for recruitment events and campus visits.
  • Represent Schreiner University in a professional and ethical manner at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions, Associate Director of Admissions, or other designated supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
  • Willingness to work weekends and evenings to meet job requirements.
  • Strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Calendar) and internet use.
  • Ability to use social media platforms strategically for student engagement and recruitment.
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude with a strong desire to serve others.
  • Comfortable presenting to large and small groups (students, families, counselors).
  • Ability and willingness to travel.
  • Strong organizational skills, including goal-setting, prioritization, follow-up, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments (marketing, financial aid, athletics, faculty).
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster partnerships with high school counselors and community organizations.
  • Ability to persuasively communicate the value of Schreiner’s education to various constituencies.
  • Sales ability to “close” prospective students.
  • Sound judgment, maturity, and responsibility.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license, related insurance, and a good driving record.
