Seasonal Graduate Admissions Assistant

This is a temporary, in-person, non-benefitted position in the Office of Graduate Education. Two positions are available, with end dates in January 2027 or March 2027. This role supports the enrollment team during peak admissions season and requires availability Monday through Friday, excluding University holidays and closures.

Responsibilities

  • Review and examine prospective students’ graduate applications and academic records utilizing established standards and guidelines to ensure applicants meet minimum University standards.
  • Prepare admission files for academic units by organizing electronic application materials, reviewing for completion, completing data entry, and notifying applicants of any missing items.
  • Process admissions files in a timely and accurate manner based on priorities set by the admissions team.
  • Respond to a high volume of email inquiries regarding graduate admission applications using sound judgment and excellent customer service skills.
  • Review and prepare applicant files for final OGE decision approval and release.
  • Perform other projects, as assigned, to support the admissions team and Office of Graduate Education.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Administrative office experience
  • Computer proficiency skills

  • Ability to quickly learn and use new software systems, including the University’s admissions CRM system, Slate
  • Exercise confidentiality, discretion, and good judgment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Higher education and/or admissions experience

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., 35 hours/week
  • Seasonal: October 2026 – January 2027 or March 2027
  • In-person at the University of Denver, with potential for partial remote work after a preliminary period

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $21.00.
