About the role

Join the Prime Video’s Content Localization, Understanding, and Enrichment (CLUE) organization to build the systems, services, and applications that ingest, process, and distribute Derivative content on Prime Video. As a Software Development Engineer on the Prime Video Core Engineering team, you will design and develop systems and infrastructures used by millions of Amazon customers worldwide. You will regularly interact with product management and senior engineering leadership, helping to shape our technology vision and create a people-first, high-performing engineering culture.

You will work on complex system software, focusing on scalability, customer-centric solutions, and operational excellence. Experience with building and operating web-based applications or web services at massive scale will be highly applicable. Responsibilities

  • Design and develop highly scalable systems and infrastructures for Prime Video’s global customer base.
  • Collaborate with product management and senior engineering leadership to define and execute technology vision.
  • Build and operate web-based applications and/or web services at massive scale.
  • Solve complex customer problems through scalable software solutions that raise the bar on operational and customer goals.
  • Foster a high-performing engineering culture focused on innovation and results.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) for new and existing systems.
  • 1+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, or services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
  • 1+ years of Object-Oriented Design experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Pay

Base salary range: $143,700.00 – $194,400.00 USD annually (location: Seattle, WA). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Additional compensation may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
