About the role
The School of Global Innovation and Leadership at San José State University seeks part-time faculty members to teach undergraduate and graduate courses. The positions are available on the main campus in San José, California, or online.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in the School of Global Innovation and Leadership's undergraduate programs.
- Offer classes as scheduled throughout the entire semester.
- Be responsible for weekly office hours.
- Create and evaluate student exams and assignments.
- Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to curriculum decisions.
Requirements
Candidates must have a master’s or higher degree relevant to the courses they wish to teach and at least three years of professional experience. They should also demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to a diverse student population.
Qualifications
- Master’s or higher degree relevant to courses to teach.
- At least three years of professional experience.
- Knowledge and experience on teaching.
- Awareness and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population.
Skills
Applicants should demonstrate an ability to effectively engage with students and organize classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).

Pay
Compensation and salary range placement are determined by qualifications and experience. The anticipated monthly salary rate of full-time AY faculty is as follows:
- L-A / Range 2 - $5507 - $5959
- L-B / Range 3 - $6221 - $7481
- L-C / Range 4 - $6825 - $9431
- L-D / Range 5 - $8593 - $10347
