About the role

The Department is seeking part-time faculty members to teach courses in the undergraduate programs housed in the School of Information Systems and Technology (SISTech) at San José State University.

Responsibilities

• Engage and inspire students to achieve learning standards.
• Teach courses in areas such as Introduction to Business Systems, Introduction to MIS, Database Management, Networking, Project Management, Systems Analysis and Design, Data Analytics, Cyber Risk Management, Programming, Artificial Intelligence, or related topics.
• Hold regular office hours and create and evaluate student exams and assignments.
• Participate in faculty meetings and offer input on curriculum decisions.
• Organize all classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).
• Teach in a mode that matches the schedule and mode specified in the schedule of classes.
• Complete an online orientation module for online teaching.

Requirements

• Doctoral Degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, Data Science, or related field.
• At least three years of professional experience in related field or equivalent through education and experience.
• Demonstrate awareness of and address the needs of a diverse student population.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in training or teaching.
• Doctoral degree in related field.

Skills

• Ability to teach in various areas of Information Systems.
• Awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population.
