School of Management Lecturer Pool

About the role

The Lucas College and Graduate School of Business of San José State University seeks part-time faculty members to teach undergraduate courses in the School of Management. Courses include Strategic Management, Business Law, Organizational Behavior, Organizational Theory, Human Resource Management, Business and Society, Ethics, and Introduction to Business.

Responsibilities

• Able to teach in-person on the San José State University main campus.
• Must be excellent in teaching and engaging with students.
• Responsible for weekly office hours, creating and evaluating student exams and assignments.
• Show awareness of and address the needs of a diverse student population.
• Organize all classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).
• Teach according to the schedule of classes, including meeting all deadlines and maintaining class attendance.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree from an accredited university, business school, or law school.
• At least five years of relevant professional experience, and/or significant university teaching experience.
• Pursuing relevant scholarly or applied research or having significant and recent professional experience in the areas of importance to the School of Management.
• Demonstrate awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population through inclusive course materials, teaching strategies, and advisement.

Schedule

Positions start at the beginning of a semester and appointments may be renewed based on department need, funding, and performance.
