Job Summary
The Scheduler/Receptionist plays a crucial role in maintaining the surgery schedule and ensuring smooth operations. They coordinate and schedule surgeries, verify patient information, and communicate with patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule surgeries while working closely with physicians and patients.
- Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and surgical documentation to ensure everything is in order before procedures.
- Communicate pre-operative instructions and guidelines to patients, ensuring they are well-prepared.
- Serve as the primary contact for surgery-related inquiries, offering clear and compassionate communication to patients and their families.
- Adjust and manage surgical schedules to accommodate emergencies, changes, and cancellations.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure that the surgical workflow is efficient and all necessary resources are available.
- Maintain meticulous records of patient schedules, documentation, and follow-up care appointments.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2-4 years of hospital or medical office experience required.
- Ability to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional way.
- Able to use time wisely in preparing work area to meet high-paced demand.
- Show a genuine desire to work and improve the hospital as a whole.
