Responsibilities
Scan Coordinators are responsible for maintaining overall price integrity in their store. This position conducts daily, weekly, and monthly price changes, including changing shelf signs and tags, promotional signs, and bucket signs, and ensures compliance with all company and governmental compliance regulations.

- Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold throughout the store
- Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the departments and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions about products
- Train the file maintenance clerk and other store associates on preparing store signage and ensure accuracy
- Ensure all tags & signs are hung and displayed in a timely manner
- Research any tags that have not been hung, and make sure they are items that are not carried
- Consult with management before disposing of the tags
- Perform an ad check at the beginning of each ad cycle to ensure proper scanning of all items in the circular
- Verifies and maintains accuracy of coupon discounts and in-store specials
- Check ad signing for proper pricing
- Implement accurate and timely price changes for new and existing items using the pricing software
- Sort and distribute price change paperwork and tags
- Create and review daily section check reports, and turn in to store management
- Provide feedback on store conditions as needed to the store management team
- Conduct store pricing audits/section checks as scheduled on the section check calendar
- Research price discrepancies to ensure data integrity
- Conduct audits to ensure shelf and pricing systems are integrated
- Attend Department Head meetings and help keep scan accuracy a priority in the store
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
- Collaborate with team members to encourage teamwork
- Adhere to all local, state (WIC) and federal laws, and company guidelines
- Verify WIC APPROVED items checklist daily to ensure all items and tags are hung and labeled WIC APPROVED
- Performs "comp checks" by going to competitor stores and checking prices of other stores; enters data, writes data, reads reports, transmits data by computer, etc.
- Makes signs as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed
- Able to work weekends and holidays may apply
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Skills
The incumbent must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities required for satisfactory performance, including:
- Operating a handheld device, performing 10 key by touch, and using computer terminals
- Performing organizational skills
- Demonstrating excellent verbal inter-personal communication skills to establish and maintain a good rapport with co-workers, Supervisors, store personnel and vendors
- Using sound judgment and mental alertness to make and be accountable for decisions
- Multitasking and prioritizing tasks while meeting strict deadlines
- Communicating (hearing and speech) with customers and providing customer service while on the floor
- Performing all tasks with integrity and extreme confidentiality
