About the role

Create and implement solutions to meet business requirements utilizing SAP APO Demand Planning (DP), Supply Network Planning (SNP), Capable to Match (CTM), and Production Planning (PP). This includes gathering and analyzing business requirements; designing, configuring, developing specifications; and managing development through testing and implementation according to SAP best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, and develop system functional specifications in consultation with users to determine hardware, software, and system functional requirements.
  • Implement best solutions according to SAP DP, SNP, CTM, and PP modules based on business requirements, leveraging standard capabilities where possible.
  • Design, develop, document, create, and carry out system configuration modifications.
  • Coordinate module and system integration testing based on user or system design specifications.
  • Proactively identify areas of improvement in system-related business processes using new technologies to enhance efficiency and competitive advantage.
  • Accurately estimate workload.
  • Utilize SAP Support portal and SDN network in support of SAP implementation.
  • Lead and implement continuous improvement processes.
  • Work independently or as a member of a team.
  • Communicate effectively both horizontally with peers and customers, and vertically with management.
  • Manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Travel up to 5% of the time.

Requirements

  • Experience in Planning, Detail Scheduling, Execution, and Monitoring processes including demand planning, rough-cut planning, production planning, and alert management.
  • Working knowledge of related SAP Logistic Execution and manufacturing processes such as order management, stock transfers, purchasing, and production.
  • Strong understanding of SAP APO planning concepts in Demand Planning (DP), Capable to Match (CTM), and Supply Network Planning (SNP).
  • Strong understanding of SAP PP planning concepts.
  • Understanding of planning procedures and heuristic profiles.
  • Understanding of SAP Master Data related to planning: Material Master, Bills of Materials, Production Versions, MRP Areas, and Transportation Lanes.
  • Strong understanding of data transfers utilizing SAP CIF (Core Interface) functionality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university, plus additional related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred major: Computer Science.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations in English.
  • Ability to write analytical and technical reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and instructional reference material.
  • Able to speak effectively before groups, customers, employees, or the general public.
  • Ability to perform mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.

Desired Qualifications

  • Understanding of SAP equipment records and serialized inventory.
  • SAP ABAP experience.
  • APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).

  • Occasional lifting of 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent use of computer, including monitor, keyboard, mouse, trackball, or touchpad.

Work Environment

  • Operates in a general office or engineering lab environment.
  • Low noise level in the work environment.
  • Not exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, hazardous chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme temperatures, or risk of electrical shock.
