Summary Of Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The Sanitor reports to the Sanitation Supervisor and is responsible for completing all duties and tasks assigned before their shift ends. Their primary role is to aid in the breakdown, cleaning, disinfecting, and reassembly of food production equipment to maintain food safety standards. This position operates on a non-traditional schedule including weekends.
- Use water, chemicals, and sanitizer to clean and sanitize equipment and production rooms daily
- Detailed sanitation and upkeep of the facility, ensuring all processing equipment is properly cleaned and sanitized
- Identify and report food safety and quality issues
- Follow all OSHA safety guidelines and GMP/Food Safety guidelines
- Perform all other tasks as requested by plant/floor supervision
- Work within a cold and wet environment and wear specified protective gear at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Related training or at least one month of related experience
- Mechanically inclined with an emphasis on disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of processing equipment
- Training requirements located in the Training Register
- Basic math skills

- Regularly stands, uses hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Reaches with hands and arms, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls
- Talks or hears, adjusts focus, lifts up to 50 pounds
- Frequently walks, works near moving mechanical parts, exposed to fumes or airborne particles, high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, potential exposure to sulphuric acid, carbon monoxide, noise level in the work environment
