Sanitation Tech
Responsibilities
- Use wet and dry cleaning methods to clean production lines, silos, shipping, and other areas of the facility.
- Disassemble, clean/sanitize, and reassemble equipment.
- Accurately and safely clean equipment areas or periodic work.
- Sweep, mop, and maintain offices, restrooms, and lunchrooms as well as the outside parameters.
- Maintain the sanitation program utilizing a Master Cleaning Schedule and ensure accurate procedures in all tasks completed.
- Maintain compliance with food laws and labeling requirements by working with leadership.
- Use appropriate cleaners and sanitizers for all food processing equipment and plant facilities.
- Perform daily self-inspections and techniques to monitor sanitation issues with all equipment.
- Inspect work before it is checked by lead.
- Follow the Lock Out Tag Out Safety program.
- Train new employees or employees who change job classifications.
- Report all equipment problems to leadership or supervisor immediately.
- Communicate all matters relating to safety and health and positively promote safety in operations.
- Follow general and specific safe job procedures that apply to the job.
- Plan and carry out job assignments without creating hazards to oneself and other employees.
- Work in confined spaces while following confined space protocols where applicable.
- Work in all conditions including wet, humid, hot, and cold.
- Work at all heights within the facility.
- Learn and work industrial equipment like a scissor lift, boom lift, and floor scrubber.
- Flexible work schedule.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Prior Sanitation or Cleanroom Experience Required.
- No high school diploma, GED, or college degree required.
- Prior food plant sanitation or related experience a plus, preferably in a food manufacturing facility.
- One year of similar work experience preferred.
