About the Role
Uses proven sales tools and techniques to achieve sales quotas on an assigned route. This position pre-sells product to assigned off-premise accounts in a designated area.
Responsibilities
- Takes adequate inventory at each account to make proper recommendations of product needs and maintain properly stocked inventory levels
- Restocks account inventories by moving product from back rooms to cold boxes, displays, and shelves (cold and warm) ensuring all products are within code date
- Sells displays, authorized products and packages, shelf facings, and Point of Sale materials
- Follows Suppliers’ agreement guidelines at each account and maintains proper code dates for all products
- Merchandises products, restocks products, makes space adjustments as allowed, builds displays, and installs POS as agreed upon by retailer
- Ensures appropriate paper P.O.S. is in accounts and pricing is in place
- Develops and maintains good communication with managers at each account
- Notifies Area Sales Manager of all pertinent changes in assigned accounts including file maintenance, license updates, route scheduling, and competitive activity
- Submits daily activity reports to supervisor
- Maintains knowledge of the complete and growing portfolio of Brands and Packages
- Strives to achieve the number one position in each account for placement of paper (promotional and theme) and permanent P.O.S. to ensure dominance
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Two (2) years of directly related sales and marketing experience
- Prior grocery/convenience store and/or consumer products experience a strong plus
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Able to handle alcohol and work within T.A.B.C Guidelines
- A dependable personal motor vehicle, suitable for work use, capable of transporting up to 20 cases of product and/or display materials with proof of liability insurance
- Intermediate computer knowledge in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint; Margin Minder and Mobility knowledge preferred
- Must have a cell phone with data capability
- Valid Texas Driver’s License and driving record within MVR policy guidelines
Physical Requirements
- Talk, hear, and see (including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus)
- Continuous standing and walking, up to 8 hours at a time
- Continuous lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling 20-161 lbs
- Ability to operate a two or four-wheel dolly
- Must be able to push a 300 lbs dolly load and move 161 lb kegs
- Must be able to safely operate a pallet jack
- Frequent driving distances between 0-75 miles in one sitting
- Frequent climbing, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering dolly, hand truck, boxes, cases, and kegs
Working Conditions
- All weather conditions (indoor & outdoor) including high temperatures, cool/cold temperatures, wind, ice, humidity, rain, fog, hail, sleet, and snow
- Daylight, twilight, evening, and dark lighting conditions
- Noise, vibration, dust, dirt, airborne particles, fumes
- Work hours vary daily due to business needs
