About the role

This is an on-site role (5 days per week).

  • Assist Sales Applications Engineers with administrative tasks to expedite creation and dissemination of RFQ responses to Commercial Sales Offices.
  • Prepare transition documents and communicate project readiness for assignment to the operations team.
  • Document work by maintaining files for each job.
  • Use a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Office products, Trane selection and pricing programs, and specialty vendor programs (Salesforce.com).
  • Assist with CSO Account Manager follow-up communications regarding pending or active jobs.
  • Develop understanding of TCS quotes—types of custom work, hours/labor rates, material costs, etc.—and use this knowledge to manage updates of quote templates as rates, hours, and margins are revised.
  • Enter quotes into CRM management tool (e.g., Salesforce.com) and maintain updates through the quote process to active job status.
  • Run regular reporting to track SAE progress (e.g., bookings).
  • Learn basic engineering technical concepts to assist with running online performance data as backup/additional information for RFQs.
  • Assist Custom Solutions Product Manager with administrative and research tasks to improve division strategies and support marketing tactics.
  • Run regular reporting to track Custom Projects progress (e.g., RFQ by month, Avg Value/Quote, Market Penetration).
  • Collect current competitor research from Trane Commercial product teams and file in SharePoint.
  • Assist with creation of presentations to knowledge share and engage key colleagues within the Commercial Sales Offices (multiple monthly sales engagement meetings).
  • Work with Product Manager to schedule virtual and face-to-face meetings and develop messaging/content; coordinate the Sales Application Engineers (SAE) schedule to develop travel schedules by quarter.
  • Conduct analysis using internal data (Power BI/OBI) to monitor monthly progress vs. monthly and annual goals and CSO office behaviors/trends when quoting custom jobs.
  • Work to consistently meet and exceed customer requirements.
  • Continuously strive for operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred (recent graduate with a 4-year degree in Engineering or HVAC sciences ideal).
  • 2-4 years of experience in customer service, inside and/or outside sales, preferably in an industrial environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

This role has been designated by the Company as Safety Sensitive.

Pay

Hourly base pay: $24.76. This role is incentive eligible but not sales commission eligible.

Compensation is tailored to a variety of factors, including seniority, merit, geographic location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation. The provided range is generally based on the national average for the country.
